Our stay at Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel was amazing! I hope you enjoy this review and of course, a special thank you to Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel for hosting us!
When we started our trip from Orlando to South Lake Tahoe at 3AM, I knew the day was going to be long and that we would be looking forward to getting to Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel.
From the Reno-Tahoe airport, we hopped in the South Tahoe Airporter, and less than an hour later, were dropped off in front of the hotel!
That made Christian and I’s lives soooo easy! We left the driving in snow to our professional driver and next thing we knew, we had arrived!
After our long journey across the country, the kids were super excited to unload and get to the room!!
1-Bedroom Family Suite At Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel
After a speedy check-in, and our total amazement at the size of the hall… seriously you guys – this is 8 stories with a glass roof on top. And there are 3 halls identical to this one!
We hopped in the glass elevator and got to our 1-bedroom family suite!
It had a separate bedroom with two queen beds, which very quickly became the children’s corner!
Christian and I thought everyone would be getting much more rest if he and I just slept on the pull-out couch.
In all honesty, it was super comfortable and we slept like babies after the long trip!
We loved the shampoos and soaps, as well as the coffee, tea, and hot cocoa.
After the thermal shock of falling snow, the kids thought they had landed in paradise – hot cocoa in hand, watching big snow flakes fall on the roof tops!
Eating At Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel
Every morning starts off deliciously well at Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel.
After an amazing day on the ski slopes and a good night of sleep, we woke up to the free hot breakfast buffet from the hotel.
We filled up with eggs, french toast, potatoes… and who knew Ava liked bacon so much? I am telling you, family travel is the best! You learn things about your 6-year old, you never knew before!
We were so full from breakfast that we hit the slopes immediately after that and didn’t feel hungry until after skiing!
If you enjoy cocktails, Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel has a fantastic Happy Hour from 4.30PM to 6.30PM with $3.50 cocktails. After a long day of skiing, that felt amazing!
Ideal Location In South Tahoe For Skiing…
On the day we arrived, we headed straight back down to the lobby where we picked up the ski equipment we had pre-booked.
It was amazing and a huge time-saver to be able to get everything from the lobby of our hotel!
We then took the kids and their skis to the snowy hill behind the hotel. They hadn’t skied in over a year and couldn’t wait to taste the snow!
But what really makes Lake Tahoe Hotel Resort special, is how close to the Heavenly Gondola it is!
I was totally amazed, the next morning, when we only had to walk one block to the Gondola!
During our stay, the Gondola was actually closed due to a severe wather alert, so we had to hop on the free shuttle to California Lodge. The transportation is even closer to the hotel! It is the next parking lot over!
After a long day of ski, we LOVED being able to quickly walk from the shuttle bus straight to our room.
Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel also makes it super convenient as we handed our equipment over to the the ski storage at night!
… And Fun At Heavenly Village
There is so much to do in South Lake Tahoe and everything is accessible by foot from Lake Tahoe Hotel Resort!
Heavenly Village is only about two blocks away from the amazing restaurants, shows, boutiques, ice-skating rink, and even the local supermarket.
We loved walking through Heavenly Village at night!
Après-Ski At Lake Tahoe Hotel Resort
Once we got back to the resort, totally snow-spent, we headed straight for the indoor pool and hot tub.
Nothing like relaxing jets and hot water on tired legs before starting a fun evening in town!
